According to two tweets made by Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan this morning, the bonus disc for the reissued Pisces Iscariot deluxe box set has been mastered by Howie Weinberg in his Los Angeles studio. Corgan apparently traveled to LA last weekend to work with Weinberg, who is best known to Pumpkins fans for having mastered the band’s 90s catalog. Weinberg’s involvement with the Pumpkins’ reissue project is a new development, however; the Gish and Siamese Dream reissues, as well as the band’s new album Oceania, were instead mastered by Bob Ludwig.

Corgan further tipped fans that the song “Glynis,” already announced for the Pisces bonus disc, and has been remixed by “BT,” presumably Corgan’s longtime collaborator Bjorn Thorsrud. We are still awaiting other details about the Pisces bonus disc sequencing, which Corgan finalized in mid-February. We do know that the Pisces box set is also to include a cassette tape “recreation” of the band’s original 1988 demo tape and a DVD of the full November 19, 1988 show at Roselle Music. No date has been set for the release of the Pisces reissue, which had been tentatively announced for Record Store Day 2012 but now seems to be pushed back.

Corgan was back in Chicago by Monday night to attend the Chicago Chorale’s performance of Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis.
