rapapapa! great news.

3. Scott - 6:31 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

4. Manuglass - 6:41 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

Great news indeed! Can’t wait for Tom Tom, the EP and more songs.

5. awmg - 6:50 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

Thatjust made my dy.

6. awmg - 6:51 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

That just made my day*

7. SirRobin - 7:11 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

God I hope they record Owata and My Love is Winter. And at least one song we haven’t heard yet as well.

8. SirRobin - 7:13 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

Oh, and I’m sure Lonely is the Name will be on it. It could have been just a late demo though, seeing as how Billy demoed all the other songs way back when. Sorry, I’m just sort of thinking aloud… not aloud… on screen… I dunno. Haha

9. Manuglass - 7:40 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

What they streamed was a demo, but I agree, it was a late demo, and the live version they’ve played seems worked enough. I also think Lonely will be on the next EP. My other bets are My Love Is Winter, As Rome Burns and…. maybe Owata, I’m not so sure about that one.

10. FOMs - 8:23 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

Ya, it’s about time slackers…just kidding, because how much of God’s green earth have they covered this year? Or, where have they not been is the question.

11. jcoriha - 8:26 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

I’m hoping for As Rome Burns, Owata, Lonely is the Name, and My Love is Winter to clear out the closet of the most requests, although I think Circular Change would fall into that category as well.

12. MayoSean - 10:10 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

It is weird how we love songs that haven’t been officially released yet because of demos and bootlegs. I’m echoing the want for Lonely is the Name, Owata, and My Love is Winter. I’m also awaiting the release of Zen Baby and Blessed Mother from the Soundcheck shows.

13. Josh James - 10:51 pm // Friday, October 29, 2010

Awesome!!! About frickin’ time! Can’t wait to hear Tom, Tom next!

14. Sean - 12:50 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

…I’m confused. What’s this got to do with Rainn Wilson?

15. asromeburns - 1:28 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

whats that supposed to mean, “including nicole fiorentino?”

16. Ginger Shackleton - 4:43 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

click on the link doofus ;)

17. rapapapa - 5:56 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Zen Baby, As Rome Burns, My Love Is Winter, Quasar, Owata, Lonely Is the Name, Circular Change, When the Cocks Crow, Make it Happen..

Zen Baby and Rome song is the two that I mostly want to have.

18. Bountiful_Wasteland - 8:20 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

I’m gonna place my fictional $50 on
– Lonely is the name
– My Love is Winter
– When the Cocks Crow
– Shadowland
I also have a feeling they are going to start doing the releases in reverse. Put out a single for free, release the physical EP, than put the rest of the songs online for free.

19. JennBenn - 8:26 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

20. rapapapa - 8:29 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Shadowland. Yeah, that one too.

21. Spumkins33 - 9:45 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

anyone know where I can get those Guitar Hero isolated tracks (Today, 1979, any others)? I see them on youtube, would LOVE to get my hands on those to play with.

22. Manuglass - 10:41 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Mmmmm. I forgot about “When the cock crows”. I was sure it would be on EP2 because Kerry tweeted at some point something in the line of “See you when the cock crows”. I guess they left it behind.

23. rapapapa - 11:07 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

its a good song. I doubt they left it behind. It must see the light of a day, if not on main album, then at least as a b-side. Mark Tulin last year tweeted that he had finished recording bassline for SP song about winter (My Love Is Winter?) so maybe it is also recorded, just waiting to be released.

24. FOMs - 11:28 am // Saturday, October 30, 2010

That whole Backwards Clock Society Echoplex show was amazing thanks to those youtube videos by mzero23. There were a lot of good unreleased-as-of-yet-songs there.

25. awmg - 12:34 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Make It Happen. That is all.

26. skullivan - 12:54 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Good to hear. The first EP was recorded in six weeks last year (and that was after recording troubles) so hopefully there won’t be a huge gap between EP’s this time around.

Perhaps around the anniversary of Song for a Son we’ll hear about the change in release strategy Billy has hinted at. The 3rd EP should be finished right around then. I’m still wondering what they can possibly do outside of stopping the “monthly” releases and just releasing the EP’s as a whole as they are finished.

27. THE FREAK - 1:15 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

I think a really fast Make It Happen, a hard and screaming As Rome Burns, a somber My Love is Winter (a la Adore), and an epic When The Cocks Crow would be the perfect EP for me. Im not a huge fan of Lonely and Owata is too played out at this point imo

28. Bad Thadd - 1:31 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

My fictional $50 [and in this order too]
They’re gonna crank out 8 tunes in a month [yeah right]

EP 3: Cool in Your Pocket
1. My Love is Winter
2. Owata
3. Blessed Mother
4. Zen Baby
Bonus song: Stitch in Time Instumental (played as intro music at recent shows)

EP 4: The New Gods
1. As Rome Burns
2. Blurricane
3. Make It Happen
4. Jesus Needs a Hit
Bonus song: God or Thunder [Kiss]

29. THE FREAK - 1:39 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Jesus needs a hit will not be recorded

30. Hafsteinn - 3:05 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Spumkins33 ; you can siva and other multitracks online, they are .ogg files so you would need audacity to open them. They were a part of rock band

31. Rabasco - 4:10 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

EP 3:
-When the Cocks Crow
-Lonely is the Name
-Make it Happen

And I still waiting for ‘West Coast’!!!

32. ddb - 4:35 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

EP 3:

-My Love is Winter
-Emerald Green is the Colour
-Lonely is the Name
-Into The Light

A perfect deep winter EP, just in time for Jan/Feb/March. Lots of “is the” songs.

Oh, and the Bonus song: Pastichio Medley II (which will be a five-hour long amalgamation of all those great songs from the last ten years that Billy will never record proper studio versions of.)

Yes, it is my dream.

33. D - 5:05 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

i like it ddb…especially the pastichio medley 2:)

34. pepin_cascaron - 7:16 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

Ep 3:

-The trip
-Lonely is the name
-My Love is winter
-Make it Happen

I hope the record the trip, it had an amazing guitar riff

35. theFred - 9:28 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

36. THE FREAK - 11:36 pm // Saturday, October 30, 2010

@pepin: i agree the trip is awesome!

37. rapapapa - 5:35 am // Sunday, October 31, 2010

its okay. but amazing? same riff all the way the song. if they’ll record that song, they better add freakin solos and billy should scream in studio version.

38. awmg - 1:13 pm // Sunday, October 31, 2010

@Bad Thadd

That’s a very solid tracklist, but if EP3 is caleld “Cool In Your Pocket” I will probably cry. I’m also doubting the Kiss cover and Jesus Needs A Hit.

39. awmg - 1:14 pm // Sunday, October 31, 2010

40. pepin_cascaron - 1:59 pm // Sunday, October 31, 2010

Well i like it, I guess i see the trip as TBK’s Zero.

41. rapapapa - 4:25 pm // Sunday, October 31, 2010

I liket it too.. but I’d never call it amazing.
This could be new Zero

but Billy probably forgot that he had even written song like that..

42. purple pumpkin - 6:44 pm // Sunday, October 31, 2010

How is this not headline worthy. I thought he had a sense of humor =/

@Billy twitter

“gotta love that as our wonderful country falls apart our response is to hold an event hosted by two comedians. blah.”

“comedy, yeah that’ll bring us back as an industrial and intellectual power! we’ll laugh our way back to jobs for all…”

“Corporate Comedians still end up serving those masters who have put us where we are, in a delusional state of blissful denial. Chuckle away”

guess I’m forced to tread over to netphobia. guess it’s fitting for halloween and all..

43. purple pumpkin - 6:46 pm // Sunday, October 31, 2010

guess I should have checked first! my apolojesus!

44. The Great Pumpkin - 12:07 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

billy already said in a video chat that owata will not be recorded because he considers it to be an old song. it is not part of the current batch under consideration for TGK

45. skullivan - 12:37 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

@TGP #44 That’s a shame if that’s the case, I really liked the new Owata they were playing on this tour. I would think that would also put As Rome Burns out of contention as they were debuted at the same time?

46. THE FREAK - 12:42 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

that would put song for a son out too…. o wait. Billy said they havent recorded tom tom yet and whaddya know? He just doesnt want anyone to know whats coming out

47. jcoriha - 12:52 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

He hasn’t said anything about the 20th Ann new songs, only the Orange Peel/Fillmore songs. As far as I know, “Song for a Son”, “Owata”, “As Rome Burns”, “The March Hare”, and “Communion” are all considered early TbK songs.

48. THE FREAK - 12:58 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

wow i forgot about hare and communion

49. The Great Pumpkin - 1:40 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

we’ll see… just relaying what he said. i know he said both gossamer and owata were old songs that wouldn’t be recorded. he can always change his mind of course. i didn’t like owata at all on the 08 tour but on this tour it sounded a lot better.

50. jcoriha - 2:22 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

I know he said that about “Gossamer”, in many interviews he said he viewed it as a Zeitgeist song, whereas the 20th Ann, and seemingly the Bridge School show were the start of the next era. I’m sure it will continue to be debated until another of those songs are released, or TbK is done, whichever comes first.

51. robochimp7 - 2:30 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

@The Great Pumpkin: BIlly said Gossamer, 99 Floors, Peace + Love were not in the plans….never mentioned Owata.

52. Manuglass - 3:39 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

robochimp7 is right. Never mentioned Owata.

53. rod steele - 5:45 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

I love it how people have misconstrued Billy’s words for their own grand fantasy. A video exists with him clearly saying what he isn’t going to record.

54. jcoriha - 5:54 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

Where is this video? I keep pretty on top of new info, and I have yet to see anything where he directly says “I’m not recording Owata”, in fact the only time I’ve seen him mention it since the beginning of this last touring cycle was saying he was shocked that people were reacting to it like it was a hit on some of the early ’10 shows, which certainly leads me to believe he thinks the song has potential. I have seen him say “I’m not recording Gossamer or any of the Residency songs”. Owata didn’t come along until the Bridge School show, same as “Song for a Son”.

55. rod steele - 6:27 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

Yeh, there was that video on Ustream where he said he wouldn’t record any of the songs from the residencies (including Gossamer) because they were documented on If All Goes Wrong.

People are just being idiots and saying he won’t record Owata.

56. rod steele - 6:29 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

Which, ya know, he may not record anyway, but it would still be up for inclusion… they wouldn’t have retooled it and played it otherwise.

57. jcoriha - 6:53 pm // Monday, November 1, 2010

My thoughts exactly, if anything I would rule “The March Hare” and “Communion” out, and probably some of SitS tour material, but BC is too obsessed with creating new landmark songs to leave 2 crowd favorites to the side forever. It makes more sense to me to leave something like “Gossamer” to live legend. But until the whole thing is done I don’t think we will get a definitive answer. I think it’s possible that 2 or 3 other songs may have already been completed or close to it as well, BC is just playing it close to the chest, same as “Tom Tom”.

58. Misery - 6:58 pm // Thursday, November 4, 2010

I thought Owata wouldn’t be recorded anywayz, it’s been knocking about for too long, and the Chris Isaak show one is probably as good as it was gonna get.

59. pepin_cascaron - 9:47 pm // Thursday, November 4, 2010

Yeah I agree Misery, I am not a fan of the Jeff parts in the new Owata. When it was slower, acoustic and had trumpets sounded best. Besides it conected with Stitch’s style.
