We know he’s talented. Very talented. The problem is that his music sucks and what he represents in terms of musical culture is terribly aggravating.
I believe the last part of his statement represents just that. He is talented. But the music is terrible and annoying. Good job on Billys part in saying that in a roundabout way.
…like James Iha! (I kid, I kid!)^^
Sure he can sing, but that doesn’t make him a “musician.”
If anyone complaining about Bieber lives in a universe where they are even slightly exposed to hearing a Bieber song, then they’re doing something wrong. The songs don’t appear suddenly in your home unannounced. It’s really hard to find music videos these days, and if you hear him on a radio you’re voluntarily listening to a pop/r&b station. He’s just being used as boogie man you can project all your feelings about things that don’t rock on. I mean, how many Pumpkins fans sit around watching 106 & Park while muttering “Man, I wish they’d play some Tool”?
i know he can get the job, but can he do the job? yeah harry but can he do the job? i know he can get the job. i am not arguing that with you. i am not arguing that with you.
I have never, ever heard a Justin Bieber song in my life (same with Katy Perry) and I’d like to keep it that way. I have, however, seen his picture millions of times, everywhere, even in headlines every time above where I check my email. It amazes me how, even though I have 0% interest in this person, I still can’t escape from knowing who he is, whether I like it or not.
Wow.. well done Billy in that interview. How stupid where those presenters. Talk about baiting questions. I am sure thier produces told them to throw those things at him to try and get a “classic Billy outburst”… well handled… keep the positive vibe of this tour going Pumpkins!
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. fook off!!!!
and for the record I love the chris moyles show – even allowing for listen again I cannae avoid shite like bieber. I refuse to miss my favourite show just cos its on a station run by a bullshit draconian corporation like the bbc
@ryan Well I work at a kmart store so I HAVE to listen to beiber, 1d, minaj, perry, gaga, etc all day every day. And trust me, its starting to get more than a little annoying.
I don’t know if I’ver heard a Beiber song either. I probably have heard a snippet, but didn’t know it was him.
Little kids need something to listen to. So I acknowledge his right to ‘exist’ in the musical world. He’s just a step up from the Wiggles or VeggieTales, and maybe his fans will mature and start listening to something more substantial one day.
I just wish the media didn’t act like he was something important. He’ll be gone before you know it. The media should be celebrating important, lasting works of art rather than the next cool thing that has no real meaning. Whatever. I think it says something that I could probably draw a picture of the kid from memory, but have no idea what his voice sounds like. I think that kinda wraps up the whole thing.
