James Iha has announced a few additional tour dates in support of his second solo album, Look to the Sky. On July 27, Iha will put in an appearance at the Jisan Valley Rock Festival in Icheon-si, South Korea. On the 29th, Iha will perform, as previously announced, at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival. Then, in September, Iha will play two club dates in Japan; he will hit Osaka on the 24th of that month and Tokyo on the 26th. According to CD Journal’s announcement of the September shows, Iha may be touring with a 20-piece band from Brooklyn (!?!).
According to a recent announcement, Look to the Sky will finally see a U.S. release on September 18 of this year, having been out in Japan since March. Last week, Iha took to Twitter to tease fans with images of goodies for pre-order bundles and promised an album-related announcement on Monday.

Who gives a damn about james iha? Is he in the pumpkins now? No. So why are you posting about james iha? There is more than enough Smashing Pumpkins news to post about. People around here try to make iha out to be some saint and Billy is an asshole. Fucking ridiculous.
@ Eric
Hipstersunited has been known to post non-Pumpkins related things before when news was rather slow. It’s usually something that Pumpkins fans would generally be interested in (i.e. the previous post about Dennis). It’s not a big deal. You may not be interested in Iha, and honestly neither am I, but other Pumpkins fans likely will be. I also don’t think this post is making Iha out to be a saint or Billy an asshole. If you don’t care about the post here’s a thought: Don’t Read it.
James is like damn i should’ve stuck with the pumpkins
@JCelsius I wasn’t talking about this post making James look like a saint. Not this post but I’ve seen many where people seem to take his side or the other former members over Billy. Its ridiculous. The amont of shit that people have said on netphoria and this site about Billy is unreal to me. No one is saying too much now but it was pretty bad for a while. I come to this site for SP news not what former members are doing. Maybe I’m reading the wrong site. If Crestfallen had a forum I would read that one.
New album available via spotify. I kinda like it after the second listen. Hoping for a couple US dates.
hey eric! i give a damn about james iha, and way more so than the so-called “pumpkins.” so there!
look to the sky 2012!!! september 18 st iha’s day bitches!!!
ps. lol guyz jaymz made an announcement of an announcement!!! :D
Lol, Eric B….woah, calm down there, buddy.
Did Eric get rejected by James, cause that’s what it sounds like.
@Eric If you go to Netphoria, you’re going to have a bad time. Full of trolls and generally miserable people who have nothing better to do than talk about things they dislike. Like I said before, if you don’t like a post or if you don’t care about James then don’t read it. It literally takes more effort on your part to complain about it than to just say “hmm. I don’t care.”
There are several James Iha fans on here. He will always be a part of the Pumpkins. I enjoyed James music when he sung with the Pumpkins, just as I do his solo stuff.
I don’t get caught up in the drama between James & Billy. I care about the music that both create.
I’m not into James Iha at all. It’s just surprising that someone could get all bent out of shape about an innocuous post on an internet blog, especially when it pertains to a founding member of the band who was there during the bulk of said band’s legacy.
@M&M Thanks for the tip!
@Eric The amount of shit Billy has talked about James is unreal to me. Even in the liner notes of the PI reissue he goes out of his way to make a compliment sound like an insult (or the other way around). We all get the message, now move on.
@M&M Is it really on Spotify? Can’t find it.
They must’ve taken it down within the last 3 days =\ sorry about that. It’s still easy to find if u know what I mean
Man this post is funny. Actually made me laugh. I was in a bad mood when I made that first post but I do like james and his work with the pumpkins. His use of the digitech whammy pedal was so damn amazing! Especially during live versions of XYU. I also like all of his songs with the pumpkins hell, I may even buy his new album.
