Adam Graham of the Detroit News, summarizing part of his interview with Billy Corgan: “‘Pisces Iscariot’ is due on Record Store Day in 2012, and the rest of the original band’s material—including a pair of solo acoustic albums Corgan recorded following the breakup of his post-Pumpkins outfit Zwan—are due in late 2012 and 2013.”
OMG SO EXCITES.
So what he said to that guy with a big hit in Europe was a wrestling thing? Seems I’m one of those fans not sophisticated enough to get that.
Are the 2 acoustic albums the Chicago songs?
@tyguy That’d be my guess, although the way its written it makes it seem like two different projects.
Billy said there were like 70 something (am I remembering that correctly?) ChicagoKid songs that he had Matt Walker going through so there’s enough material for half a dozen albums…
I like that Pisces is coming out in April as well, something to look forward to between Oceania and the MCIS/Adore/TAFH reissues. I’d bet that TAFH gets pushed to April 2013 for the same reason.
I think Adore will get pushed back to 2013, as it will mark the 15th anniversary of that great album.
If something from MCIS/Adore/TAFH were to be pushed to April 2013, Adore would make the most sense.
MCIS and TAFH are tightly coupled as they are the same era. I would imagine that it would be hard to seperate the work on reviewing old session recordings for the two projects.
The generally circulating information has long suggested there is lots of Adore material that has not made it into the fan community yet. Also, with Jimmy not present for that era they seemed to spend longer in studio working on finding the right sound and trying different things. This is the era I am most excited to have the reissue for as it really seemed to get short changed due to the response it received on release.
I could see Adore getting pushed to coincide with the anniversary. As for TAFH/MCIS being tightly coupled, I’d argue that because they are the same era (and arguably their most well known) it would make sense to spread them out a bit. But both scenarios make sense.
Just as with Pisces, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of extras TAFH gets when they already need to fill up a 3rd disc for MCIS. There was talk when TAFH was new of doing a 2CD version, I have a feeling that’s the form the reissue will take. I just can’t see them putting it out as a box again. It would be hilarious to have a 5×12″ version though!
