This past weekend, Billy Corgan sat down with the folks at 98.7 FM in Los Angeles to do a “Rockerrazzi” interview. Video of the chat has been posted to YouTube; Corgan talks about the new Smashing Pumpkins line-up, working with Jessica Simpson, his thoughts about Twitter, and old stories about his father and his fateful garage sale purchase of “Meet The Beatles!” as a small child.
Check out the interview below!
Were your internet auditions a real chance for anyone or just a publicity stunt? Lots of good bassists posted videos; did anyone get an actual audition? Many people feel used by the stunt.
@Jim
I can’t say about the bassist auditions either way, but we know the drummer auditions were for real.
I do recall a ustream video I think where Billy described how Nicole joined the band, and I think he said he saw some of the submissions, and at the same time Nicole wanted in. So he gave her an audition and decided to go with her. I don’t think he actually auditioned any bassists?
Who knows?
I guess it depends on if there is any truth to this or not:

Woah, where did that come from? Odd little bit of info there in that newspaper clipping.
i certainly felt that way about the band after hearing them live at forecastle ^^
Haha, @Jim, that comment is exactly what he is talking about by walking a fine line with the internet. :)
Really good interview, he is really coming off as likeable and relateable in all his recent interviews.
Wut?

Dan Vo once solved a Rubik’s Cube simply by looking at it.

“Did I ever tell you about the time I had breakfast with Brasky? Brasky drank a full glass of liquid LSD with his eggs. Then he slept for eight months straight. When he woke up, he rubbed his eyes and said, ‘All in all, I prefer gin!’”
