see, you all forget, smashing pumpkins has ALWAYS been billy corgan, plus some other random people. He doesnt even care about the other people’s playing or how good they are– that’s why he goes back over it in the studio and re-records their parts himself. It doesn’t matter WHO the new bass player is, who will get fired next, or whatever, as every single member of the band is a shell of a puppet for the bald egomaniac that cant chart again to save his life, LOL.

Qualifications for SP ‘bassist’:

1. Must be a SMOKING HOT BABE
2. bass skills must be adequate (see Wretzky, D’arcy), virtuosity not required but a plus

Qualifcations for SP ‘drummer’:

1. Must be a virtuoso ROCK MONSTER DRUMMER
2. Image not important (see: Byrne, Mike)

Suck it up, justsomeguy.
I auditioned too, and you know what? I’m not complaining. If you’re going to stop playing bass just because you didn’t make one gig, then you were never meant to play. I’m sorry if it sounds offensive, but it’s true. Once I got the news, sure, I was down, but only for around a few seconds before I saw the good that came out of this. Now I’m starting up way too many bands/side projects just so I can get the chance to play whenever. Plus we have an awesome full new line-up of the Smashing Pumpkins! But you’re not always going to land all your gigs! If you want to make it your passion, then pursue it in any way you can if you just miss one gig. If you just give up there, it will never be a passion, and there might be something else instead other than bass. Just enjoy music for what it is.

Anyway, back to Ms. Fiorentino…

I’m beyond blown away! She’s the real deal right here! Good for Nicole Fiorentino! I’m personally not a huge fan of Veruca Salt, but I dug her bass playing. She’s good, real good. I’m anxious to see what the combination of Mike, Billy, and Nicole (of course Jeff too!) will result as for the future of Teagarden and the Pumpkins. It’ll simply be great.
