Billy Corgan tweets off at Courtney Love 2:33 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

After claiming last night that Courtney Love did not “get the year right” when she told the NME about a past “threesome,” Billy Corgan this morning aimed a fresh volley of seven tweets (containing six numbered “Thoughts”) toward the Hole frontwoman.

Subjects addressed in the 140-character chunks include Love’s songwriting or lack thereof, her Facebook apology to Corgan in March, and her loss of custody over daughter Frances Bean Cobain last December.

UPDATE: Smashing Pumpkins producer Kerry Brown threatens the “Doll Parts” singer.

This is just getting ridiculous now… is a dignified silence to much to ask for?

2. Tree_Spirit - 2:48 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Sad…this story all together .Nothing loving or positive in this at all,this is the type of thing that should of been keep private between both parties.

3. Spumkins33 - 2:51 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Geeez, what did she say on Stern this morning?! I didn’t read the entire NME article – but it didn’t look all that bad.

4. halo - 2:52 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Indeed. Billy and Courtney really need to growup.

5. Tree_Spirit - 2:53 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Where did the love go?The whole concept of love and acceptances,understanding,forgiveness etc…

This is the road to bitterness…

Lord i hate all the played out drama…

6. halo - 2:54 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

They especially need to deal with this in private, rather airing their dirty laundry in public. It’s embarrassing seeing a couple of 40yo get into a twitter war.

7. BitterT - 3:03 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Im tired of this crap. What happened to Billys whole peace and love attitude and philosophy?

8. MonteLDS - 3:14 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

how did u guys not post this one too

9. Spumkins33 - 3:18 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

No way,

it wasn’t just the NME – something else was said. It takes a lot for Billy to go off – and apparently Kerry and Kerry’s wife were thrown into the mix?

10. jjb - 3:22 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

I obviously didn’t mean to imply the sole cause of this was one quote in the NME. They have decades of history, yo.

11. halo - 3:23 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Since when did ever take a lot to set Billy off? For fuck sake, regardless of what was said, this should not be addressed through twitter. This only accomplishes to lower Billy to her level and get in the news. The last thing we need is more news/gossip regarding everything but the music.

12. Tree_Spirit - 3:30 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

@MonteLDS
OMG..I think i’m traumatized now…lol..gosh i didn’t need to know that about Billy *sighs*

WTMI=WAY TO MUCH INFORMATION..

Apparently the dirt is being slung from both sides..gosh just sad this…:(

This really undermines the whole concept of being about LOVE, acting in this fashion PERIOD.Sometimes the best action is NO action.To just walk away from the negativity that someone pulls you into ,is the best defense.Shows your the bigger person by walking away from it.Apparently neither knows how too..

*prays from both Billy and Courtney both*(Hope they fine peace and love for each other down the road.)

No more comments from me to much negativity spawning from this for me.

<3 to all.

God, Love, Forgiveness… Scam.

14. Spumkins33 - 3:48 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

There’s only so much someone can take. I’m glad Billy’s fighting back with piss and vinegar. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones…

15. emilystrange - 3:49 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

ARE YOU GUYS KIDDING ME? you would let your crazy ex-girlfriend fame whore STEAL your songs and talk shit about you and you’d just not say anything? YA RIGHT

16. emilystrange - 3:49 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

being a spiritual person and trying to be a good person doesn’t mean you have to be a little bitch.
even jesus threw down every once in a while…

17. Thirteen Birds - 3:55 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

More proof that OLD PEOPLE SHOULDN’T TWIT. I’m really thankful that I came of rocknroll age before all this petulant, bitchy dreck was available from the tap. Back in *my* day, shit like this would have been filtered down into a really great rumor about a someone driving mudshark into the Holiday Inn pool while on acid. Or at least a catty story about pregnancy and heroin abuse and some guy who smelled like Tobi Vail.

18. halo - 3:58 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

She didn’t steal anything. He already gave her permission to use the songs. He can be a angry all he wants at her, it’s just completely pointless and counter-intuitive to do so through twitter. And please, enlighten me as to when Jesus “threw down every one and a while”.

19. Spumkins33 - 4:03 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

MUUUUUUUDDDDD SH SH SHAAAAAAARRRRRKKKKK.

Hopefully someone got that reference.

20. emilystrange - 4:03 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

He totally destroyed and overturned the money changers that were clogging up the temple. They went in and busted it all up.

How do you know she isn’t stealing? It seems that the people involved believe she is stealing and they would know more than you would don’t you think?

How would sitting there letting someone who is known to be recklessly destructive take advantage of you and talk shit about you in the press be more ‘spiritual’?

21. Tree_Spirit - 4:10 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

@emilystrangelol…I know no place where Jesus threw it down..

Correct he got angry when he was in the temple…with the “money changers” I would have been angered to, his people buying, selling, trading…in the temple of God. It was full of evil, and greed, covetness…just bad things. Anger is very good, and he was very just and righteous…be angry and do not sin.

…more people need to get ANGRY about more things.
anger was placed in us for very good reason. When a person who is very calm, passive, loving, good…and kind gets angry the room stops…and everybody listens and is like “woah”. That is why it is good.

There was no good in this anger PERIOD..It was anger and bitterness to lash out at another person..

i’m not judging or cast no stones but lease get fact straight.

22. emilystrange - 4:28 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

so you are putting Courtney (who screws over everyone she’s ever been around) in the right?
Do you let people just walk all over you?

23. halo - 4:35 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

First, the scenario with Jesus and Billy are completely different and not related…AT ALL. Let’s just please refrain from even comparing Billy and Jesus from this point onward.

Second, who is saying that she is stealing? Billy? If it were true he could have sued her or have had the record blocked. He didn’t, which means that she was probably already given permission. Also, people continuously forget that Eric Erlandson and others were a big part of Hole, they also had a hand in writing the songs. She didn’t steal all of her songs from Kurt or Billy, that is completely disrespectful to her former bandmates.

Third, the main point is that they are both being immature idiots. Nobody should be defending their behaviour.

24. Tree_Spirit - 4:46 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

@emilystrange

I don’t personalize this person done this or this person done that.No one wrong is greater then another wrong.There both wrong….I’m not taking sides of either, patting either one on the back.If this is way they want to conduct themselves,it is them.But sad tho..

To is better to just walk away from the negativity that someone pulls you into ,is the best defense.It’s called being a adult and having a little self control.Shows your the bigger person by walking away from it.When I was WAY younger, I might of step right into the negativity, but I’m a OLDIE and know better..So should they both.

To avoid any root of bitterness we must LOVE, despite we are deserving of it . You cannot walk hand in hand with Love and still be bitter.

“…love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven…(Matthew 6:44,45)”

You cannot do this and be bitter. There is a sure fire formula to stop bitterness: rejoice in the truth and bear all things from those you love, believe the best of those you love, hope for the best for those you love, endures all things from those you love. And remember, Love never stops loving. If it was ever love, it’s still love.

25. Tree_Spirit - 4:54 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

@halo agreed shouldn’t defend it.

26. emilystrange - 4:54 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

who was comparing billy with jesus? certainly not moi.
I just don’t think being a christian or spiritual person means you have to lie down and take it from whoever is dishing it.
I think standing up for yourself is important to your self esteem and pride.
My point is that if any of you were in this position and someone very public and crazy stole your songs and was talking trash about you you’d definitely be defending yourself. It’s human nature. And don’t tell me you’d just swallow it. That’s bullshit.

27. halo - 5:02 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Why do you keep saying that she stole his songs? Where is the proof of that? What exactly did she say that would warrant such a barrage of hate? That they had a threesome? That he has sexual technique?

It’s fine and healthy to stand up for yourself. You just don’t do so on twitter, especially not when said people are in their 40′s and are famous. He can stand-up for himself all he wants, in private, where these matters belong. It’s all just so ridiculous and hypocritical. How many times have people, and Billy even, complained that we spend too much time talking about Billy’s personal life rather than his music? Lately, all it seems like is that Billy, and Courtney, want attention in any way they can get.

28. emilystrange - 5:16 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

why are you assuming that you have all the facts? Where there is smoke there is fire.
Obviously some shit has gone down that we the ‘public’ are not privvy to. What would get Billy so mad as to rage on his twitter AND Kerry Brown – who implied that she had even attacked his wife?
Kerry has implied on his twitter in the past than she has ripped off his songs in her new release as well and Billy’s twitter clearly accuses her of using HIS songs which he already said she did not have the permission to use..
How is that not stealing?
Are you really implying that you, @halo, know more about the situation than the people who are actually involved?
People don’t just get THAT mad out of nowhere….

29. Rick Worley - 5:31 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Wow, there were some new lows in there. C’mon, this makes me sad when I enjoy so much of his music and even defend him as a person most of the time, and then he has to present himself like this way.

30. halo - 5:48 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

I’m not implying anything. I’m not taking any sides, but clearly you are. That’s the problem and why this debate will just go in circles. You take Billy’s and Kerry’s word as gospel against Courtney’s, my belief is that between all of their lies lays the truth.

Anyway, Billy knew what Courtney was like. He spent 20 years catering and defending this insane woman. Cheated on his wife with her, had threesomes with her, did drugs with her, freely gave his music to her, and constantly went back for more. How does the chorus from Miss World go again?

31. skullivan - 6:05 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

I don’t really follow this drama nonsense but from what I have seen of what Courtney has said in the last couple weeks she has:

A: Called him a deadly guitar player.
B. Named him as one part of the only good threesome she ever had.
C. Claims he is awesome in bed.

What is Billy complaining about? She’d be an awesome wingman!

32. Adam - 6:56 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

here’s a recap of courtney speaking about billy on howard stern this morning.. hopefully some you tube clips will be up: http://www.marksfriggin.com/news.htm#mon

this website recaps stern shows on a daily basis:

“Howard asked what went on with Billy Corgan. Courtney said that she wrote Billy a nice letter and his lawyer took it and typed it up and put it on Facebook. She aid that she and Billy had dated and worked on some albums together and now he’s threatening to sue her over the new album. She said she’s not sure what’s going on with him.

Courtney said she met Jessica Simpson, who Billy was dating, and she doesn’t think she has anything to do with it. Courtney said she’s trying to quit smoking and she found this stuff that’s supposed to help you stop. She said that her management is supposed to get her this E-Cigarette but they’re just about outlawed at this point. She said she wants to quit but things aren’t going the way she wanted. That had nothing to do with Billy though.

Courtney said that Billy Corgan lost his mojo so fast. She said she’s never seen someone lose it like that. Courtney said that she’s getting good reviews for the album but Billy’s last albums were very small reviews. She was all over the place talking about that stuff. It wasn’t clear what her point was.”

33. D - 7:01 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

i’m with emilystrange on this

34. you do not need friends like that so ignore her - 8:34 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Seems like Courtney has been provoking Billy for a while publically on the radio, twitter, facebook and it’s ENOUGH. She is using him to get media attention and it’s sad, but it is working. Why does she have to speak publically about how good he is in bed when she knows he’s dating or hanging out with other girls? Your real friends do not shame or humliate you in public. Now you see why he wants nothing to do with her.

God or No God people have their limits. Billy is human and not God.

35. ellaandherfellas - 8:54 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

damn. i always swore it was kurt who wrote the music AND sang that song. both sounded just like him.

ya learn something new everyday.

36. thatguybayne - 8:56 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

I agree. She gets accused of depending on others to do the work for her but the worse crime and the one she is definately guilty over is how she piggybacks on other’s fame. Billy’s been getting good press over this Teargarden project and suddenly Courtney can’t shut up about him. She’s done this to so many people over the years it’s long past being sad.

37. heavenstobetsy - 9:10 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Kerry Brown needs to go away and never come back. What is more pathetic than two over the hill has-beens dealing out low blows to each other over a public forum like twitter? It’s an over the hill never-been brazen enough to stick his fat hirsute head into said shitstorm.

Why does Kerry Brown even comment on the band or Billy? No one else currently involved in recording/touring pulls shit like this. Jeff doesn’t feel a compulsive need to blab on the internet about his issues with people. And really, Kerry Brown is a fame whore just as much as Billy, except twitter probably makes him feel special and recognized for once.

Billy, give heed to your own advice for once and cut this turd out of your life. This is a bridge you need to burn.

Also, Catherine sucked.

38. ellaandherfellas - 9:11 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

Now, as for Jesus, the radical revolutionary one (since that name happened to pop up), some say that being could “throw down” in some other needed ways. (Ways that were revised, written over, and erased by later translators – and not by accident, either):

Theologian Walter Wink elaborates:
http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1216-30.htm

Many who have committed their lives to working for change and justice in the world simply dismiss Jesus’ teachings about nonviolence as impractical idealism. And with good reason. “Turn the other cheek” suggests the passive, Christian doormat quality that has made so many Christians cowardly and complicit in the face of injustice. “Resist not evil” seems to break the back of all opposition to evil and counsel submission. “Going the second mile” has become a platitude meaning nothing more than “extend yourself.” Rather than fostering structural change, such attitudes encourage collaboration with the oppressor.

Jesus never behaved in such ways. Whatever the source of the misunderstanding, it is neither Jesus nor his teaching, which, when given a fair hearing in its original social context, is arguably one of the most revolutionary political statements ever uttered.

When the court translators working in the hire of King James chose to translate antistenai as “Resist not evil,” they were doing something more than rendering Greek into English. They were translating nonviolent resistance into docility. The Greek word means more than simply to “stand against” or “resist.” It means to resist violently, to revolt or rebel, to engage in an insurrection. Jesus did not tell his oppressed hearers not to resist evil. His entire ministry is at odds with such a preposterous idea. He is, rather, warning against responding to evil in kind by letting the oppressor set the terms of our opposition.

A proper translation of Jesus’ teaching would then be, “Do not retaliate against violence with violence.” Jesus was no less committed to opposing evil than the anti-Roman resistance fighters like Barabbas. The only difference was over the means to be used….

Now we are in a better position to see why King James’ servants translated antistenai as “resist not.” The king would not want people concluding they had any recourse against his or any other sovereign’s unjust policies. Jesus commands us, according to these king’s men, to resist not. Jesus appears to say say that submission to monarchial absolutism is the will of God. Most modern translations have meekly followed the King James path….

Jesus clarifies his meaning by three brief examples. “If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Why the right cheek? How does one strike another on the right cheek anyway? Try it. A blow by the right fist in that right-handed world would land on the left cheek of the opponent. To strike the right cheek with the fist would require using the left hand, but in that society the left hand was used only for unclean tasks. As the Dead Sea Scrolls specify, even to gesture with the left hand at Qumran carried the penalty of ten days penance. The only way one could strike the right cheek with the right hand would be with the back of the hand.

What we are dealing with here is unmistakably an insult, not a fistfight. The intention is not to injure but to humiliate, to put someone in his or her place. One normally did not strike a peer in this way, and if one did the fine was exorbitant (four zuz was the fine for a blow to a peer with a fist, 400 zuz for backhanding him; but to an underling, no penalty whatever). A backhand slap was the normal way of admonishing inferiors. Masters backhanded slaves; husbands, wives; parents, children; men, women; Romans, Jews.

We have here a set of unequal relations, in each of which retaliation would be suicidal. The only normal response would be cowering submission. It is important to ask who Jesus’ audience is. In every case, Jesus’ listeners are not those who strike, initiate lawsuits, or impose forced labor. Rather, Jesus is speaking to their victims, people who have been subjected to these very indignities. They have been forced to stifle their inner outrage at the dehumanizing treatment meted out to them by the hierarchical system of caste and class, race and gender, age and status, and by the guardians of imperial occupation.

Why then does Jesus counsel these already humiliated people to turn the other cheek? Because this action robs the oppressor of power to humiliate them. The person who turns the other cheek is saying, in effect, “Try again. Your first blow failed to achieve its intended effect. I deny you the power to humiliate me. I am a human being just like you. Your status (gender, race, age, wealth) does not alter that. You cannot demean me.” Such a response would create enormous difficulties for the striker. Purely logistically, how can he now hit the other cheek? He cannot backhand it with his right hand. If he hits with a fist, he makes himself an equal, acknowledging the other as a peer. But the whole point of the back of the hand is to reinforce the caste system and its institutionalized inequality…

44. Adam - 10:21 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

the frances thing was a cheap cheap shot, but apparently she knows how to push his buttons, and he obviously knows the buttons to push to get her riled up.. and thanks to twitter we get to witness the drama in real time!! quite entertaining.

45. Tree_Spirit - 10:23 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

This simple “if you’re going to talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk” or “walk it like you talk it”

‘Actions speak louder than words’ and ‘practice what you preach.’

Billy is human and not God.But if he’s going to say, i’m about LOVE. You need to get with that simple little saying above.

If he’s about LOVE, despite Courtney is deserving of it,he should still approach her in a loving manner . You cannot walk hand in hand with Love and still be bitter.He is one that says, he is about love, no one put no words into his mouth.Just go to everything from here to there and read his own words….hard to practice what you preach isn’t it?

Despite the way their behavior is.I still have a lot <3 for them both, wish them the best.But gosh come on, it's time to stop with the drama of it all really and fine a peaceful place with each other..Seriously they aren't young rockers anymore…their grown adults and know better to keep all their private business private..

Two wrongs no make a right either…

46. daisy - 10:34 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

It’s not just that the comment was a cheap shot at Courtney (although it was), it was wrong to do that to Frances. If he’s so concerned about her, he might not have declared to the world he was screwing her father’s wife immediately before and/or after his suicidal death. Probably Frances already knows this, but did she need to see “Uncle Billy” tweet about it. yuck

Also, for years Courtney abandoned Frances many times to her grandmother or nannies, while all along Billy was singing her praises.

And hasn’t he been through this song stealing issue with Celebrity Skin?? He actually came back for more?

I love his music but he’s an immature jackass and a hypocrite.

49. Joey - 11:47 pm // Monday, April 26, 2010

50. Adam - 12:01 am // Tuesday, April 27, 2010

when has billy ever taken the high road?

51. halo - 12:02 am // Tuesday, April 27, 2010

@Angel
Speak for yourself. I have been faced with this situation several times, and never did I resort to publicly acting like a ranting lunatic to whomever would listen. You know what you do when you have a problem with someone that you once considered family? You directly talk to the person or let it be. He can be angry all he wants, in private, where this shit belongs. What’s the point of even resorting to her level? The only thing this has accomplished is to further give more publicity to their stupidity (and Courtney’s comments). Hell, even the gossip and music sites think these two need to grow up.

@daisy
Yes, that part about Frances was really low. He also came off as kind of creepy.

@Joey
There were some rumours around ’94 (particularly that time Kurt locked himself in the bathroom and threatened to kill himself). But, that is not what daisy said. daisy was referring to Billy, who wrote on his twitter, that he last dated Courtney in 94 (right after Kurt died and while he was still married).

52. daisy - 12:02 am // Tuesday, April 27, 2010

@joey

“People of Earth/goss mags, stop linking romantically me to C Love! We haven’t dated since 1994! I have a G-F thank u.”

Kurt died in April 94. So, he’s admitted they either “dated” right before Kurt died or right after. Also, Billy was married that year too.
It was always common knowledge. Just somewhat surprising he would so publicly confirm it.

There both completely out of their minds at this point. It’s really a shame.

53. joey - 12:46 am // Tuesday, April 27, 2010

i see, but him just saying 94 doesnt necessarily mean kurt was still alive.
i guess it doesn’t matter. the fact that he ever dated courtney period shows how f*cked up he is.
does courtney say if the 3some she’s talking about with billy was with another dude or a chick?

54. daisy - 1:28 am // Tuesday, April 27, 2010

No, joey, it only means the affair happened right before he died or right after. (Supposedly Courtney and Billy stopped talking around Sept of the same year) But whatever that’s not the point. The point is if he sincerely cared about Frances he would have left that particular skeleton in the closet where it belongs. Was it really that important to correct the “goss mags”?

I think it was a girl.

“when has billy ever taken the high road?”

good point

I wish he would concentrate on offering us some decent music instead of these weekly trainwrecks.

@Halo
I understand your stance entirely, and im only trying to say every man has his breaking point. For Courtney, this is her just desserts and Billy doesn’t have to be looked down on for saying what he has every right to. Yes I agree that for C.Love this all about publicity, shes trying to ride Billy’s fame…maybe not the first time she has done this. I think you can admit that there are times where you decided not to hold back like everyone else here.

@Adam
Hes shown he can protect his former band-mates when necessary. Quite honestly if what he had to say about the Zwan members was true, I would have never kept it a secret. I think releasing his thoughts about the events of the past or past band members is therapeutic for him…helping him to move on and what not.

I can easily say what I would’ve done, but I don’t think I can say what Billy should be doing.

I just have to add my two cents about kerry brown. I think its ridiculous someone attacked him. He’s awesome and talented. He produces amazing songs for a living. What does that jerk who posted do for a living to provoke such jealousy? Why does billy have such contrary jealous fans who seem to relish poking fun at the people who surround Billy? Is this common for most bands whose fans press their noses against the glass and judge smugly instead of getting off their asses and accomplishing something themselves? Exceptional people pay most attention to world events and their own visions. Average people pay most attention to other people and other people’s accomplishments. Courtney definitely had this coming. The girl has racked up so much bad karma it must be a tidal wave lying in wait. She creates her own disasters so no one should feel an ounce of sympathy for her. She loves the chaos and the adrenaline and the power of pushing someone else around. She needs it which is why she picks random unnecessary fights all the time.

Corgan has no integrity. he’s a hypocrite. He has successfully burned every bridge, between his friends, family AND fans.

@emilystrange

Amen.

Recent post “Happiness is: to thy own-Self be true”

If there is anything I know about Billy is that he is true to himself and calls it how he sees it. There is no right or wrong, obviously he has had enough.

Letterman will be fun tonight. I remember seeing her on previous episodes and it was verry entertaining.

@dbt um, it seems to me he still has plenty of friends.

Wow listened to yesterday’s Howard Stern interview and she really is a nut case. She is so hard to keep up with and likes to throw lots of accusations around.

67. Adam - 6:47 pm // Tuesday, April 27, 2010

care to elaborate more on what she may have said about Billy and CO. in that stern interview? or do you have a link to audio?

68. negativesleep - 12:10 am // Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Well. It was kind of the same stuff that she has been saying about Corgan and basically that he will get over the stuff he is mad at her about. She was really all over the place and her ranting went in many directions. She was extremely late to the interview which started to piss off Howard. When they finally wrangled her into the studio she talked about fighting with her “boyfriend” and she appeared to be upset and blamed that her tardiness on fighting with him. Howard tried to ask her a few times about who she is with at the moment but she wouldn’t reveal a name. Howard asked if it was Corgan she was fighting with before she came into the studio and she said no. What I thought was weird was after the interview when everyone came back from break Howard reported that Courtney told him that he was right about one of the names that he mentioned earlier. He didn’t elaborate on what that meant though so who knows. When Howard asked her specifically about why she was fighting with Corgan she just said that he will get over it and said that she had never seen anyone lose their mojo so fast when referring to Billy’s career and success.

TO Thy Own Self Be True?Which self? Because he has so many self’s i think he getting confused which one to be true to.But of course he’ll do what he wants.Love him but he doesn’t himself know what to be true to really.I pray he fines it.I rather someone just be who they truly are then pretend to be something their not.

But I do wish they would resolve this privately like grown mature adults normally do and it go back to being about MUSIC..not their lover squalls..lol..and not in public where all eyes are watching and make a show.To me this is just some kind of show for them and guess what it doesn’t need attention,we just give it more attention then it really should get.

Nothing in LOVE should be about furry vengeance or violent revenge.

@bumblebee

If he has so many friends then why is he always whining about how loneley he is? He burns bridges while he’s crossing them. Everytime I read an interview with Corgan he’s blaming his failure on everyone close to him. It wasn’t such a big deal when he did this 10-15 years ago, because he was putting out some decent material, but now the only thing this guy seems to be able to create is crap, and to top it all off he has lowered himself to throwing out tasteless insults, publicly. This guy is no different than Paris Hilton, and his music is just as poor these days.

dbt: “This guy is no different than Paris Hilton, and his music is just as poor these days.”

Yeah.

If I could devote myself to HU full-time, I wouldn’t. But if I did, I would be tempted to experiment with a rule requiring anyone expressing an opinion such as this also to include at least one example of an artist whose music is ‘good’ “these days.”

73. Bigpumpkins - 6:54 pm // Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Eric Erlandson on his facebook earlier today. Pretty funny:

“Yay! My favorite cover band released their new album today – “Somebody’s Munchkin”. I’m gonna order 10 downloads cuz i wanna do a good sheep job enabling the lead singer’s self-destruction. Heck, quicker she’s in her grave, quicker we get the biopic and the boxset. Right? My favorite song is “Letter to Don Bolles.” I …think Sarah Palin wrote it.”

Personnaly I doubt the last Hole album would have been significantly better if Erlandson had been on board. I don’t care that much if Courtney is the only remaining member. Same for Billy/SP. Huge difference between the 2 bands: new SP is very good and challenging and new Hole is plain boring.

@daisy

“People of Earth/goss mags, stop linking romantically me to C Love! We haven’t dated since 1994! I have a G-F thank u.”

well the intention of this was self-interest really, as in, what he wanted the goss rags to talk about, hoping it would have some steam after all that JS speculation and give him a ‘free’ ride on his new much younger triple the twitter followers GF

(there’s that victim pose again)

and it’s the target audience he craves, esp. as he keeps flaming the core audience

@jjb

you pumpkins fans are so sensitive. Do you really think its impossible for Billy Corgan to write a bad song?? If Corgan stuck a mic in his toilet and recorded himself taking a shit you would all insist it was the best song youve ever heard and defend it to the end.

I’ll humor you… Astral Planes is probably the worst song I’ve heard this year. An example of a ‘good’ artist “these days”….Dan Auerbach.

Also, i didn’t say he’s a bad musician, i said he’s traded in his talent to be a tabloid personality. His antics lately remind me of trashy reality TV. He’s acting like Kate Gosselin, maybe worse.

76. chris - 9:46 am // Friday, April 30, 2010

@Dbt: The “mic in the toilet” argument is a tired argument and a load of shit (pun intended). Plenty of people on here profess their dislike of specific Smashing Pumpkins songs, I’ve done so on numerous occasions.
