Lisa Harriton, for your entertainment 1:56 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

Posted by jjb in adam lambert, lisa harriton, news.
trackback

She will play keys in the band backing American Idol season eight runner-up Adam Lambert (at right, with guitarist Monte Pittman) on Sunday night at the American Music Awards. Yes, she passed an audition with Lambert himself to land the spot. No, I don’t imagine this job will appear on her jazz résumé.

UPDATE: “The concept is sort of industrial gothic vintage Berlin 1930s.”

UPDATE: Next Wednesday, Lambert will add a “Good Morning America” live performance to his America-centric glam résumé.

PERFORMANCE PHOTO UPDATE (very late Sunday night):

Ummmmm….congrats Lisa?

2. theFred - 6:23 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

definitely a step down to say the least.
=/

3. apm - 8:44 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

4. redmond - 8:45 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

This is probably a well paying gig.

5. ifeelsoPRETTY - 8:48 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

I’m happy she’s getting the exposure though I hope Adam’s goth stylist doesn’t make her wear netting on her face the whole time.

6. gauphil - 9:33 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

At least she is sexy… but damn… :-(
I hate American Idol, I hate Lambert too.

7. tcm - 10:22 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

how can that dude shred with those gloves on. but yeah, sincere congratulations, Lisa! don’t be a stranger. :)

8. tcm - 10:23 am // Friday, November 20, 2009

er… correction: that glove.

9. Dawncat - 12:52 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

Хуита!

10. gauphil - 1:52 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

I really think Lisa is the most beautiful woman to have played with SP. Gotta love her on that picture. Ok that’s not the point here I admit, haha! Still true though.

If this appears on her jazz résumé, let’s take it personnal people! ;-)

11. b - 5:50 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!

12. Lauriellen - 8:13 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

Obviously she auditioned for the gig. She, like many of Hollywood’s music elite, want to work with Adam Lambert. Before you criticize her decision, why not watch their debut on Sunday at the AMAs.

13. JimL - 8:27 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

Two great talents come together…Adam is going to be huge, so she is taking a step up…and I see on here that people who are posting know nothing of Lambert…he is far from goth as you put it….read up and learn before you post and sound like total idiots…looking forward to Adams concerts…congratulations lisa

14. Chappy20 - 8:34 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

Congrats, Lisa! You are most likely in for the ride of your life with an artist destined to be an international mega-star. Faces of the new generation.

15. deafchild - 8:37 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

@theFred

Are you delusional?

I hate American Idol as much as the next guy — but come on. Lest we forget that the Smashing Pumpkins used to be played on MTV constantly? How about the more recent exploitation on Visa and Hyundai commercials. You act like BC hasn’t been hanging out with Tila Tequila and Sasha Grey.

Heaven forbid she want to participate in something that is successful.

Is JC beneath your standards now as well?

16. deafchild - 8:42 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

@theFred

Sorry if that came off as hostile — I wasn’t trying to attack you or anything but sometimes the knee-jerk reactionary fan (that we all can be) is too much to handle.

17. gyang333 - 9:33 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

@deafchild
i think you hurt his feelings.

18. deafchild - 9:47 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

@gyang333

HaHa well I just realized that I kinda sounded like a dick.

19. gauphil - 10:06 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

@deafchild

I agreed with theFred, it’s a step down in my opinion too. And that is subjective, not objective. I don’t like Adam more than any other “American Idoler”. So far from SP and Billy in terms of creativity and legacy.

20. theFred - 10:22 pm // Friday, November 20, 2009

@deafchild
my feelings are totally hurt.

First of all I never said I approved of Tila Tequila, Sasha Grey or any other member of BC’s posse. As for the rest of what I was gonna say, gauphil has already said it. I’m not worried about her involvement with a high profile act (in fact, i’m glad for her and her career). It’s just odd to see her doing this after having worked with one of the greatest musical minds of our time (THIS IS AN OPINION, NOT A FACT). I guess in the end it doesn’t really matter.

also, JC can do no wrong! (except that mullet…)

21. stace - 12:05 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Personally, I adore Adam Lambert, so this just makes me even happier about Sunday night.

22. deafchild - 12:11 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

@theFred & @gauphil

I love you guys! BFFEFEFEFEFEFEFEFEFEFE!

23. gauphil - 12:29 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Personnaly, and I say this in the sweetest way possible, I feel bad about seeing the name of Adam Lambert associated with a member or ex-member of SP. This is not it. This is just not fucking it.

Not for me. It is not.

I always said only music mattered to me and Billy always delivered. But this…. oh my.

Thank god Billy(And even Mike now) has nothing to do with this.

Sorry but this is how I feel. I don’t care he is popular with all the girls out there and he will sell tons of records or songs on I-tunes. I really just don’t like it. At all.

24. Adam - 1:41 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

get over it.

25. Adam - 1:43 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

i mean christ she’s a piano player for hire. she has to make a living.

26. bias - 1:54 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

She’s damn lucky to get the chance to work with the most versatile singer alive not to mention a kind and sweet person with a creative vision. Shame on you all. Let her go back to eating PB&J if she’s just too cool for Adam Lambert. This is a live performance at age 22 2004.

27. Adam - 2:01 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

are you guys gonna be this pissed when mike joins the jonas brothers?

28. Cagle - 2:09 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Umm, what’s wrong with eating PB&J?

29. Cagle - 2:11 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

PB&J is the nectar of the gods.

30. Cagle - 2:11 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Delicious.

31. Cagle - 2:12 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Yum.

32. Cagle - 2:14 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

It’s not like it’s Ramen Noodles or something.

33. pumpkinxyu - 9:08 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Not to pass any judgement on Lisa whatsoever, but that photo makes me physically nauseous on so many levels that I can’t even scratch at the surface of HOW WRONG IT IS TO PRETEND THAT WHAT HAPPENS ON OR AS A RESULT OF AMERICAN IDOL IS REMOTELY LEGITIMATE OR IN ANY WAY COMPARABLE TO WHAT SHE WAS DOING IN THE SMASHING PUMPKINS. Fuck that show, fuck the contestants, fuck the judges, and just as importantly, fuck the people who watch it for convincing themselves that they are an audience to an authentic moment of passion and creativity. You can get pregnant with a turkey baster, but it ain’t quite like making love, is it? Sorry in advance (but not real sorry) to those I may have offended! And there’s nothing wrong with PB&J.

34. Janika - 9:24 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

She is really really talented. And Monte played on Madonna’s band. Adam Lambert has some talented people on his band omg.

LOL at the some of the comments here. Jazz elitists whining – feeling? And I like jazz, btw.

35. IGGY POP - 9:58 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

TOKIO HOTEL?

36. gauphil - 10:09 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Ahhh I was starting to miss you and your good advices Adam. Thank you I feel better.

But I still feel the same.

I’d like if you gave the same kind of leniency to Billy schizo Adam!

37. gauphil - 10:15 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Thanks you pumpkinsxyu, I feel less alone now. Exactly what I think.

@Janika
Of course she is talented, that’s not even the point. In fact, this is what makes it hurt more. She’s becoming a minion for a puppet. Not really flattering.

Stop trying to make me believe that Adam is oh so versatile. He’s just a dull crybaby with makeup. He’s not better than any other AI contestants in my mind.

38. bias - 10:27 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

She seems quite enamored with him here at 1:36 when he thanks sound production. So even though her career is totally decimated and she is no longer a serious artiste but a disgrace to her former fan base…she’s enjoying herself.

I actually think she looks surprised at his generosity. Makes sense since she’s probably out of her element being so used to working with drug addicts and depressed professional wrestling fans who think videos about pregnant heroin shooting is so cleverly avant garde. Ya’ll need to join up with Muse fans – they’re whining over him too.

39. gyang333 - 10:58 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

by the way, he sorta looks like a homosexual version of dave navarro in that picture.

40. gauphil - 11:03 am // Saturday, November 21, 2009

That was lame bias. Useless and lame.

For once some people here are complaining about something directly related to music.

41. hmm - 12:50 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

@gyang333: “homosexual version of dave navarro” is very redundant!

42. bias - 1:02 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

LOL music, really? Seems to me the lament was how beneath her it is to join this band and how she has to work to eat. I am merely pointing out that she seems to be enjoying herself so ya’ll really don’t need to be so sincerely worried on her behalf. Peace…out point made. She likes him within one week LMAO. You can’t hide the endearing look on her face.

43. Adam - 1:07 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

“She’s becoming a minion for a puppet. Not really flattering.”

How is this different from when she was playing in SP?

44. gauphil - 1:15 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Ok, no I’m not going into this again. My opinion is clear about american idol and daring to compare any of its contestants to Billy/SP is pure madness.

Agree or disagree.

45. redmond - 1:20 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

At least she’ll be playing to packed houses. ;p

46. Adam - 1:21 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

i think you are over reacting.

lisa is a musician, as a profession. she needs to work. chances are she has an agent who got her the audition. she’s not working in SP now. she hasn’t played with SP in nearly a year. she hasn’t been asked by billy to record, or play any other shows (spirits, etc). she’s got to make a living. I bet this gig pays well.

She worked for Billy, now she’s working for this guy.

47. magsmagenta - 4:17 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

How do you up your own asses Smashing Pumpkins fans think you own this womans career just because she played in a band you like? You are as bad as the Muse fans previously mentioned who are whining because Max Bellamy gave Adam a song ‘Soaked’ to sing on his album, as if it was up to them what he does with his songs.
Adam is no ‘puppet’ he has played his own game throughout American Idol, and simply used the show as a platform to get himself ‘Out There’ and it has worked brilliantly for him.
And for the record I hate reality shows including American Idol and only saw him by Accident channel hopping.

48. deafchild - 4:56 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

“are you guys gonna be this pissed when mike joins the jonas brothers?”

Possibly the funniest thing that I have ever read on this website.

49. StuckInVain - 7:27 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

I think it’s funny. Hope she’s well-payed and having fun (judging from that photo, she must be
).

50. Kristina - 8:20 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Why do some of you have hate for Adam? Why don’t you like him? He’s a talented artist with an amazing voice. He’s very down-to-earth and very grounded. Watch some of the interviews he’s given. He’s intelligent and speaks honestly about whatever topic is asked of him. And listen to some of his performances, preIdol, Idol, and postIdol. He’s gifted with an amazing voice.

51. jjb - 8:35 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Pretty funny/sad to me that any Pumpkins fans are trying to look down on this guy. By any quasi-objective standard by which one could try to claim SP > AL (such as ‘commercialism’ or ‘use of weird time signatures’), someone else could come along and use the same standard to point out that Their Favorite Band > SP > AL. Besides, there are some metrics where AL > SP, such as ‘vocal range’. One person might not care about that metric very much, but someone else might.

52. Lapis - 10:01 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Adam’s album is not bad. I look forward to seeing Lisa perform with him at the AMAs.

53. gauphil - 10:06 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

What the hell? I don’t like his music at all, that’s it. Fine by me if you appreciate him. I don’t. I like SP as an alternative music band. I hate American Idol and their concept and even though Adam seems to be popular with more young cool people, I don’t like him more.

Fine for Lisa if she makes cash and likes what she does and blablablah.

But I don’t like to see the SP name associated with Adam Lambert. Period. I don’t hate Adam, the person. It’s just that all his songs, covered or not, stink to me. I don’t like it AT ALL.

Peace!

54. gauphil - 10:09 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

I’m sorry jjb, I don’t see your point at all. It’s like you’re saying no arguments or discussions could stand but that’s not what you apply, to say the least.

I don’t give a shit about records sales or voice ranges, I know Adam will beat SP in all those categories. That’s not the point.

I wanna repeat I don’t hate anyone. I hate those “reality” music shows. I hate, hate, hate them. They’re exactly the image of what I don’t like in music nowadays. Simply.

55. gauphil - 10:11 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

It’s just an opinion here. Simply. I am not hating on SP, it’s exactly the opposite actually.

And it’s ok if some of you disagree. I just happen to be sure that the SP fans that can stand American Idol are nothing like me in the end. And that is ok too.

This said, I will sleep very weel tonight despite all of this. I’m not “over reacting” at all.

56. Adam - 10:56 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

how is Adam Lambert’s name associated with SP other than that fact that they now share a for hire pianist? Lisa Harriton’s name is not synonymous with the SP’s legacy.

Also keep in mind this is not the first musician for hire that has worked with the pumpkins as well as other major pop stars. Kenny Aronoff recorded with Avril Lavine, for example.

57. gauphil - 11:33 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

Yep I know that. He played with a lot of artists I really don’t like too. Maybe the little disappointment for me here(Because it is a small disappointment, I don’t care all THAT much in fact, we’re just chatting here) is that I realize she is just a hired musician. I was hoping she was more than that I suppose. And that picture and the fact that we are right now wondering if it’s a step up or down irritates me. It all starts with the fact that I am totally shocked at how many people in the USA like Adam L. I mean, maybe it’s just me but shows like American Idol are the ennemies. It’s not just Lisa, she’s just like the culminating point, the “the drop which makes overflow my vase” if I may….

Anyway, of course she does what she wants. But let’s not pretend both names aren’t associated at least in a way right now. “Who’s that key player?” “Ah she used to play with the Smashing Pumpkins”.

You know…

I guess my ultimate point is, “God I hate those shows”. He’s not better, I don’t get into that.

58. gauphil - 11:42 pm // Saturday, November 21, 2009

By the way, I’m really not a fan of Tinted Windows either. But even that, in my mind, is less disturbing that Adam L.

A lot less actually.

Opinion here.

59. tcm - 1:41 am // Sunday, November 22, 2009

let’s just hope that Dave Navarro doesn’t show up on any Teargarden tracks, since he hosted one of those terrible “reality” music shows. ;)

60. gauphil - 9:52 am // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Honestly, if Billy did the same, I would really be disappointed. I mean, really.

61. gauphil - 10:05 am // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Oh and Navarro also played with Mariah Carey. Bleh. Since that, I consider him mostly a “hired” guitar player too. I mean, what else can we think?

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1ome6_mariah-carey-feat-dave-navarro-brin_music

62. Adam - 11:02 am // Sunday, November 22, 2009

billy is not far off from doing the same kind of garbage. remember, he’s running his own corporation these days, called the smashing pumpkins. his demographic? guys and gals like you whom despise pop music icons, and identify instead with alternative rockers. It can be argued that he’s creating and selling a brand these days just as much as adam lambert is creating a brand.

63. gauphil - 11:37 am // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Nah, I know it’s subjective, I’ve said it many times. But you can’t compare them both in terms of creation and originality. If you really think it’s possible to compare them both, you clearly shouldn’t be looking forward to hearing Teargarden.

Everybody seems to say Adam is so great and his voice is amazing and stuff but… I went on youtube and watched a couple of video and I really came close to throw up.

By the way, I’d like to know why Lisa and Dave deserve your leniency so much more than Billy. Seems like someone likes to play the devil’s advocate.

64. Adam - 1:14 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

why do you feel the need to be completely apologetic for billy corgan, but not lisa and dave?

65. gauphil - 1:37 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Well I realize you must feel like I am completely apologetic for BC but I’m not. When I discuss with my friends here, I do have some things I don’t like about him.

Especially his need to make people talk to him for the bad reasons. Also I disagree with him on many levels regarding spirituality and stuff and I would really prefer if he’s spare us from all this. I’m really not a fan of EFHTT. I don’t like how he speaks of ex-members, especially D’Arcy and James. I don’t like many things he does that are not regarding music. Nothing to say musicwise though.

But I prefer to talk about the things I like about him because he’s my favorite artist. But don’t get me wrong, some things about him don’t please me. I think he’s authentic regarding music in the end.

66. gauphil - 1:38 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

I meant to make people talk “about” him. Not “to” him.

67. Adam - 4:02 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

And I realize you must feel I am completely critical of Billy, but I’m not. I do appreciate/like quite a few things he does/has done. But you tend to hear me only when I’m giving him neg reps.

this past year though, man, one fucking bad decision after another.

68. gauphil - 4:18 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Yeah maybe he’s taken bad decisions but even if I tried hard, I can’t really care…. as long as the music is good.

You know, if you had loved Zeitgeist, American Gothic, FOL, GLOW, and all the new music he’s made since 2007, you probably wouldn’t give much of a damn about those “bad decisions”.

Except for Jimmy’s departure.

You know, you’d be surprised to hear me sometimes. My 2 close friends who are big SP fans too are both quite happy Jimmy left. And one of them is a professional drummer. They both love Jimmy both they thought he was being redundant after all these years and they even think he was pulling back Billy from experimenting new styles. So what I mean is when I speak with them, I gotta take the role of the one who reminds that Jimmy’s departure is in fact bad news.

They’re right that it’s making the new music to come even more intriguing though.

69. Adam - 6:12 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

If you’re talking about this guy on your myspace page, quit throwing the word professional around. He is a decent drummer, but no pro. I work with about 7 drum students who could play circles around him, and they’re not at the stage yet where they are making a complete income off of playing out professionally.

btw, i loved american gothic and the 2008 tour songs. zeitgeist im sort of indifferent to, it could have been so much better. I hated GLOW, FOL had it’s moments, and Superchrist was probably the best thing they recorded since getting back together. So again, quit putting words in my mouth.

It’s funny people accuse jimmy of pulling billy back a few steps.. because I’ve always thought it was the other way around. His writing, guitar playing and singing have become redundant and repetitive, leaving jimmy with little to do drumming wise. He came off of that fantastic JCC record, only to play some more of BC’s 4/4 standard rock fare on zeit. However, Superchrist was a step up, as was the material they were writing before they split. But I felt that in 2007, Jim was MILES ahead of billy musically (as he seemed to take music much more seriously, and evidence was suggesting BC wasn’t practicing at all, and just phoning in some of the most simple shit he’s ever written). Even the early performances from ’07, jim was always spot on, always solid, and billy is just half there on so many levels. I think it was August ’08 when I started to say ‘there! back to life!’ he was singing with more energy, passion, didn’t seem as bored. seemed like he was getting his footing back within the context of SP, finally catching up to the power JC was showcasing that entire year. Then JC leaves, and I’m assuming it was because he was getting bored with Billy’s increasing BS. “hey.. i just wrote some great material.. but first lets sell this incredibly half assed version of us to a hyundai commerical!! let’s wait about half a year til we start focusing on this new incredible music we just spent the past 6 months writing and touring on!” JC’s response.. ”see ya!”

But I don’t hold the weight of SP on just BC or JC alone. In order for SP to truly work, I think both of those men need to be working together, at the same wavelength. They obviously were no longer on that same wavelength. I can say so far JC’s solo track record has been superior to BC’s solo track record. and this is what Teargarden REALLY is going to be, BC SOLO, with special hired guests. You can deny it all you want, but as far as I’m concerned, this is now officially the smashing pumpkins (TM).

70. jjb - 6:18 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Adam and Gauphil have combined for 1,615 of the last 1,639 words, capped off by a 472-word run by Adam there… /sportsannouncer

71. gauphil - 6:22 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

I doubt you know 7 drummers who will play circles around him. Yes, I’m talking about him. He studied music in college, was named the best student of his year and now is paid to play with some artists here in Québec. He is a professional drummer.

I thought we were cool lately but seeing the way now you defend JC, you’re even worse than me when I talk about BC.

Fine.

72. gauphil - 6:25 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

So, jjb? Are you going to take the time to explain to me what’s your point?

Probably not I suppose.

I say this place would have been pretty boring lately without us. Mouahahahaha.

73. gauphil - 6:27 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

This has to be the first time I see someone hosting a blog and coming around to point that 2 people do participate to it a lot. Lame?

74. jjb - 6:28 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

and INTO THE END ZONE

75. gauphil - 6:30 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Yes god.

76. Adam - 6:49 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

He’s never been able to get to his point, gauphil. You should know that by now having been a reader of this site for however long you’ve been reading it.

And I’m not trying to insult your drummer, he’s good at what he does, but i’m just being honest. take it or leave it. But to tell me that his opinion is pretty solidified because he’s a pro goes over my head, seeing as i’ve worked with and taught some fantastic players throughout my college and post college career. He’s just another of thousands of other great players out there relaying his opinion on a subject that clearly not everyone agrees on.

77. gauphil - 7:07 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Yes, I decided to specify he was a professional drummer, because well, it’s true. But it’s not important, what matters is that they are 2 long time SP fans and they are almost happy JC is gone. I’m not. But I live with it now…

You’re actually the first one to put him a bit down(Our drummer), he’s always being flattered by everyone to a point that still amazes me even though I think he is good. I play drums too and I have always felt I was quite as good as him in a way but it seems his style is popular because believe me, he is in demand. Really.

I am sad to see jjb’s attitude. He is a shame for the other 2 here who do a great job I think.

Anyway you get my point, forget about his drumming.

78. jjb - 8:40 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

79. gauphil - 8:45 pm // Sunday, November 22, 2009

Yup, it’s really time for the new songs to come out.

80. tcm - 12:24 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

gauphil: This has to be the first time I see someone hosting a blog and coming around to point that 2 people do participate to it a lot.

perhaps he doesn’t consider it participation so much as two people starting their own conversation that has little to do with the original post.

sports metaphors are lost on me, though.

81. Adam - 12:56 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

well when the original post has little to do with the subject of the blog.. things can go astray.

one of the many keyboardists that has toured with SP does a performance with lambert and this whole site turns into a lambert fest. where are all the updates on what auf der maur’s been up to? she’s been on the road, no? she did tour with SP at one point, right?

82. jjb - 1:02 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

Hipsters United // a blog about Adam Lambert

83. Adam - 1:07 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

I’m sure you’ll find a larger variety of news coverage and criticisms on lambert. Might be a refreshing move forward.

84. deafchild - 1:32 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

Is it just me or would anyone else be thrilled if BC dressed like this guy rather than wearing a dress… etc. etc. etc.

85. tcm - 1:36 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

we know Melissa’s doing her own thing. we did not know what Lisa was up to, if she would be involved with current SP work or not. the relevance of this really needs to be spelled out?

but then the reaction from fans when they start comparing Adam Lambert to Billy Corgan and making judgments about whom Lisa is allowed to work with, that becomes a whole other story. a story so big that it has completely taken over one post on the main page and two in the sidebar already. i certainly don’t foresee an end to this mania.

86. gauphil - 1:38 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

Painful new picture here.

87. Cagle - 1:42 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

@deafchild: Um, no. Corgan dressed pretty all right in Zwan. Early Zwan: just a nice untucked button-down and nice pants. Later Zwan: the elephant tee. Casual and cool.

Yeah, the dress sucked, but I don’t see how having spikes on your shoulder would be an improvement over that. It would be best to do away with the “outfits” and just wear some hip shit…like a funky t-shirt and jeans. No dresses, no weird military looking shit, no capes…awful.

88. deathrockduck - 1:46 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

Sooo… we gonna get some music? Maybe? From someone? Possibly? Please?

89. Adam - 1:46 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

oh i agree with that tcm. the comparisons are ridiculous and no sensical. but this is a tv appearance, correct? doesn’t mean she no longer has a future with SP. a side mention/link to small article sure, but i could care less about photos, extra tweets, etc.

but i’m indifferent to her. she always seemed like an musician for hire in sp to me. i’ve always felt it was obvious she wouldn’t be recording/creating with billy. she had some nice live moments though.

90. purple pumpkin - 2:19 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

Amen. The new songs will do away with this discussion. I don;t think it’s fair to say JC or BC are better than one another musically, just different. They grew apart (musically) but I agree Billy could have made it work if he really tried. It’s a shame but they are both in a good place and neither of them are bitching so why should we? As for Adam Lambert, eh w/e, not my style (lol). Lisa is gettin her name out there which is great – I wouldn’t hold it against her.

jjb – are you part of the podcast? i guess i should know this by now. and which one kinda sounds like billy? lol

91. tcm - 3:21 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

Adam, i’m expecting, not assuming, that this will be the band Lambert takes on tour (which that guy in the rehearsal video said the AMA performance was the kickoff for). whatever the size of that tour may be, for the time being, i won’t expect Lisa to be involved with SP. at least she did casually drop by the studio, so it seems like she’s still part of the “family”.

and i think she’s been a valuable addition. Billy’s had many musicians-for-hire, but they haven’t always been as good or fit the band as well. i’m not worried about it, though. i’ve really enjoyed the variety of musicians Billy’s brought in the last couple years. the more, the merrier, i say.

92. hmm - 6:28 am // Monday, November 23, 2009

during that american music awards performance, i thought adam lambert was making out with lisa at first, but it was just some male in the band

93. jillysp - 6:25 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

Since my comment is buried exactly 92 deep in, can I just take a moment to complain about how unflattering that dress is on Lisa? She is one of the most beautiful women… and yet, that dress does nothing for her.

Yes, I’m being vapid.

94. Cagle - 7:19 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

Troo dat.

95. Lapis - 11:30 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

I want to see a Lambert/Corgan duet with Lisa on keys.

96. Floppy Nono - 11:31 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

are you kidding? the only possibility of that pairing would be if lambert decides he needs some more people to write him songs to shock up for ratings and sales.

97. Lapis - 11:32 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

It would be epic. Corgan can wear a dress.

98. Floppy Nono - 11:35 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

yeah because more cliche ways to shock the world is just what glambert needs

99. Lapis - 11:37 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

as long as Lisa brings back the conductor’s cap all will be well with the world

100. Floppy Nono - 11:39 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

lisa is such a great talent and it’s sad to see her displaced from the pumpkins and doing backing for that retard

101. Floppy Nono - 11:40 pm // Monday, November 23, 2009

also WOO POST 100 SUCK MY SHITSCOCK JJB!!!

106. [ed. gauphil posting as "Still...."] - 12:04 pm // Tuesday, November 24, 2009

I still can’t believe how much “Glambert” douche is mentionned a lot on this website.

107. jillysp - 5:01 pm // Tuesday, November 24, 2009

@Still…. Do you have a hot news tip you want to share? Because really, we’re all ears.

108. deafchild - 5:29 pm // Tuesday, November 24, 2009

@jillysp

Here is my news contribution:

109. Lapis - 9:31 pm // Tuesday, November 24, 2009

It looks like the 1st photo of this post is from the set of the music video for “For Your Entertainment”. Too bad there’s just brief glimpses of lovely Lisa in the video :’(

110. Floppy Nono - 12:12 am // Wednesday, November 25, 2009

sounds like every zeitgeist video

111. gauphil - 11:15 pm // Wednesday, November 25, 2009

You really have nothing to do Jill. I did not post as “still”. The person who did used the same link as I did. Totally incredible.

112. jjb - 11:21 pm // Wednesday, November 25, 2009

We have the IP addresses, genius. Jill can see them just like I can. (My name is Jason.)

113. gauphil - 11:35 pm // Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Hey just talked to my roommate Jill. He did post that comment you assumed to come from me. If you look closely, you will find some previous posts by him too. We are 3 persons living here right now. Be careful to what you do. You’re not god, and all your assuming is freaking lame.

The way it is done here, that we don’t have to make a proper “profile”, you can’t assume who posts as who. You’re making it so lame. I’m really disappointed. Not that you care I know. But for a couple of months, I did enjoy that site. Now I see how you people are and you’re just mean people who think they’re better than others.

Anyway, it’s true that’s it’s totally lame that you mention Glambert so much. Accept this. If you choose to make a website on a band and you run out of news, don’t try to make some. It’s totally unprofessional.

Sorry but it’s true.

114. gauphil - 11:37 pm // Wednesday, November 25, 2009

So Jason? Does that mean I’m the only person who can use that site? When I did enjoy this webpage I talked about it to a couple of my friends. I shouldn’t have, clearly.

So unprofessional.

115. gauphil - 11:38 pm // Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Anyway, you won’t hear about me no more. I know you’ll only be happy about it. And it’s fine. My goal was not to be a pain in your ass. Really not. Had you been cool with me, we could have shared I think. But you’re mean. The two of you. Chris seems better, at least with me he has been, apart from his almost racist comment.

I hope you’re going to make this place better though.

Ciao everyone.

116. jjb - 12:09 am // Thursday, November 26, 2009

For everyone’s amusement, here’s Gauphil’s previous dramatic ‘departure’ after being caught faking multiple identities. The ‘roommate’ (and good friend!) upgrade (complete with paranoid-accusation extension) to his program having failed, we can only wonder at what game Gauphil 3.0 will bring. (A proxy server? An entirely new identity?) Last time he was back to full-throated posting within a week…

117. Adam - 11:53 pm // Saturday, November 28, 2009

economist and english major = professional music bloggers? gauphil don’t take this to heart, it’s really not a big deal.

118. jjb - 10:18 am // Sunday, November 29, 2009

Why don’t you two take this opportunity to start up your own site? There, instead of arguing one-on-one like we amateur bloggers (!) force you into doing, you’ll each be free to call upon imaginary friends for comments-section backup. Lord knows your traffic will outpace ours from day one…well, in total visits, anyhow. We’ll still top you in unique IPs! ;) :)

119. Adam - 10:49 am // Sunday, November 29, 2009

you are too my friend, too easy.

120. Lapis - 11:39 pm // Sunday, November 29, 2009

slipping

121. jillysp - 3:08 pm // Monday, November 30, 2009

Wow, I just checked back in on this thread — first time since I saw the link to keyboard cat. (Which I appreciated… for the 100th time. :) )

I didn’t edit the name of “Still” and presume Jason did, and generally that’s for good reason since we pretty much have no tolerance for people who pose as others. So maybe you’d like to encourage your roommates to follow those rules if you respect them yourself, gauphil. Just an idea.

As far as I know, I didn’t do anything “mean” over the weekend except bake pumpkin bread and take it to work with me instead of letting my boyfriend eat it. And he probably will remind me of that fact for like.. two more months.

122. jjb - 5:31 pm // Monday, November 30, 2009

I know you are being generous, Jill, but I did check the backend and the ‘roommate’ is imaginary. When he first started posting here, Gauphil used a particular email address. At some point Gauphil switched to a different email address, which he has used ever since, with exactly two exceptions: the comment he made as “Still” and the comment he made as a ‘roommate’, both of which were made under — this is the dumb, dead giveaway — the same email address that Gauphil used when he first started posting here.

So tack this on to his previous adventures in multiple identity-faking and paranoid accusation-making. And this is the guy Adam elects to spend a lot of time arguing with and whose word he seems to trust over yours and mine…

123. Adam - 10:56 pm // Monday, November 30, 2009

I don’t trust the words of anybody on this site, guy.

124. jjb - 11:05 pm // Monday, November 30, 2009

126. media bias - 2:14 pm // Saturday, January 9, 2010

So I thought I’d drop by and see how many suicidal hipsters there are after seeing Lisa have to work for Kesha, and not only play but actually do embarrassing dance movements. Even I feel sorry for her now lol. Go watch kesha on The Ellen Show on youTube. See, ya’ll thought Adam was bad? Not hardly.

127. Lapis - 3:28 pm // Saturday, January 9, 2010

Lisa’s dancing with Kesha was my favorite part of the entire performance from the Ellen show.

128. Susan Edmunds - 3:29 am // Sunday, January 10, 2010

Well, maybe Lisa is just breaking out and having some fun. Why does she have to exist in the box of your creation. Seriously, narrow minded people pendantically holding forth on what some one else should do with their lives or art make me sick. Why should she let herself be defined by your opinions. Purity gets a little old, it is good for the soul to jump in and play in the mud which is the context in which we exist. Maybe, this exploration for Lisa is smashing out of what everyone expects for her to do, so she can move on and do something more.
