The video above is of the song apparently called “The Fellowship,” in which Billy Corgan and Spirits in the Sky ask, “Are you with us or against us?”
A ton more videos from HU friend Evelyn right here. Tell us your favorites in the comments!
UPDATE: Mike Oz of the Fresno Beehive tipped us off to his review and videos here! Looks like he tweeted from the show last night, too! Especially love this picture of youngster Mike Byrne and Corgan behind the bar… HEY! WAIT?!
Freak acoustic is kicking ass!!! :)
the songs have got like a late 60s vibe … and i love it :D
Wow! The Fellowship was Grade-A awesome!
I really loved Zeitgeist, and the new material, but this song has such a Pumpkin vibe to it! It still sounds fresh and new, not as if it’s retreading old ground, but it somehow sounds very “Pumpkin” to me.
Exciting! The drumming sounded great too!
Haven’t watched any other videos, but “The Fellowship” didn’t really do much for me at all. Not to say it was bad, but just…predictable? Kind of wish there was more usage of the varied instrumentation, but maybe the drums are drowning that out.
“The Fellowship” is vaguely reminiscent of “The Empty Sea” (I actually hate it when people make these kinds of comparisons right off the bat with new material–it’s useless–but I’m doing it anyway). Similar urgency, similar chord progression, drum patterns, etc.
song for a son is awesome!!!
does anyone know what song is this?
sound good :)
Wow. Totally into this. The flute made me think a bit of Jethro Tull, which is either blindingly brilliant or the kiss of death… but yeah man. Awesome.
Is that Linda Strawberry? GO AWAY. You are wasting space on a very cluttered stage. Old Dave Navarro could have been standing there without a shirt. Speaking of, nice to see him chilling off in the corner playing some sweet leads.
@lala MOV02846 is the Trip, I guess
and it’s indeed the new song that’s tripping me the most! :P
(love the riff)
the other one I appreciate is Morning Dew (mov2838?), but I’ve just figured out it’s a cover..
not very impressed by the other videos, at first.. but they deserve better listening
I left the vids uploading over night and I’m finishing the last onesw now, I need to tag them so proper titles will be forthcoming…I got 15 out of the 17 songs last night.
(oh and yes Thank you Evelyn:)
oh, dear I could have dug it a little more if Mike didn’t rip JC’s style so obviously… However, people liked Walker for doing it, so i guess people will like him for doing it also.. Good for them i guess. It just hurts my head. And they should drop ‘Freak’ immediately, or at least sort out the jarring drum accents, and fills.
As for the rest of it in general, it was OK, quite good in parts. Not my bag though. However, seeing as though we have to deal in absolutes in the SP world now, I guess i’m ‘against’.
Cheers for the vids yo.
[asinine escape]
By the way, anyone wanting to see Navarro’s hand getting licked as Billy mentions, look at about the 2:30 mark of “The Trip.”
Don’t really like the song, but that dual solo’s pretty awesome.
Please exit stage left, Linda Strawberry.
lol the guy in the beginning shouting ‘your drummer is bad!!’
Did the videos stop working for anyone else since the renaming? :(
Which was the “oh oh oh” song that was “hit material”?
All 15 vids I got last night are now up and have been tagged properly.
The videos still play for me eventhough I have changed the tags. Hope no one else has a problem watching the vids. Best viewed in high quality.
I was wondering, is anyone out there interested in having the vids as a dvd? If so I’ll torrent them once I figure out how to do that lol
unfortunately the oh oh oh song wasn’t recorded.. !
*looks at evelyn* LOL!!!
it has to be my favorite song of the night!!!!!!!!!
Cris
p.s. i love you evelyn
navarro was a great addition to this group, btw.
Evelyn — thanks so much for pulling through again! So great! And sorry I missed the fact that it the SPCherry account was yours until now. Trying to juggle work and blogging today.. sheesh. :)
BORING!!!!!!
thanks evelyn, i love new stuff, and this is no exception, can’t wait for a new album…
RC: Income welcome
@JillySP, it’s ok. Yeah I tried to record the Oh Oh song, but my camera wouldn’t focus after a minute so I stopped recording. I’ll try for the whole set this weekend.
@Cris, I love u too!
Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd…count me in!
NEED A MANAGER? very very boring!
Damn people, I thought this stuff was fantastic! The Trip was really freaking cool…
I love the psychedelic folk style! Reminds me of Trees.
@Sun Chalk
I agree with you :) The Trip is AWESOME :D
Evelyn did a great job recording the video material,
now we have to wait a bit for the audio bootleg to come out.
i believe that the acoustic songs will be alot diffrent on a more
prober audio recording :)
also “Caroline-Yes” has got a lot of potential
i like the fellowship a lot, but i think stitch in time is my favorite right now.
the trip reminds me of some really early non-album pumpkins.
Linda is very annoying. what she’s there for? get rid of her seriously..
